This 1985 De Tomaso Pantera is one of estimated 252 GT5 examples created from 1980-1985 model years. The GT5 models came standard with numerous mechanical and cosmetic upgrades including large wheels, bigger front brakes, reinforced suspension, lower ride height, lower floor rails. It also tapped into the 80's zeitgeist for brawny wheelarch extensions, deep side skirts, and a large Countach-style rear (Delta) spoiler. The GT5 also had a more luxury focused interior. This specific GT5 has a 351ci Ford V8 which was rebuilt in 2017 including Speed Pro forged pistons and rings, TFS hardened push rods, balanced rotating assembly, double roller timing chain, oil pump, lifters, Crane roller rockers, a Competition camshaft, ARP head bolts and Fel-Pro gaskets. Boss 302 cylinder heads were given a valve job with stainless steel valves and valve springs and were cut for new-style valve stem seals. This car includes numerous other mechanical upgrades pushing power to around 287whp. The original ZF 5-speed manual transaxle was rebuilt within the last 5k miles. A/C system charged, new spark plugs, tires, full fluids, carb rebuild performed in 2020. Full paint correction and ceramic coating performed by Wistar Motors.
